Mum's Funeral by Janette Eason-Savage CA

Funerals can be a procedure – especially choosing the coffin – for my Dad’s funeral it felt overly sombre and somehow unsatisfactory. 

It was a lot of money for something that we didn’t really like and was going straight in the ground.   At the time my brother rejected the virgin Rimu ones because it wasn’t helping our native forests he said. We joked we would rather have it as a bookcase and finally settled on a pine one as it was the most sustainable. The best of a bad lot as my Mum would say.
